The ecological niche of a common snapping turtle?

what is the ecological niche of a snapping turtle. What is it’s role in the ecosystem? Thanks!

The common snapping turtle is an aquatic omnivore, generally living in ponds, lakes and streams, though it can sometimes live in brackish estuaries. One could describe it as an aquatic consumer to be quite general; it is an important aquatic scavenger as well as being a predator, actively hunting small fish and other small aquatic species.
