What is a fair rate/price to setup a Blog for someone?

Hi,

I have been approached to setup a Blog site for a customer, could anyone tell me what the market rate is for this?

Is this an “ala carte” setup that each feature has a certain price, or strictly hourly, or cash contract?

I have been an IT consultant for almost 20 years, and this is the first time that I have been approached on creating a Blog for money.

Not a terribly difficult thing, but at the same time, I want to quote a fair market price.

You find lots of websites that specialize in publishing articles related to web marketing and other information designed to help people optimize making money via the net. I want to publish articles warning people against some of these practices. Hypothetically, suppose I wrote an article with the headline “Want to Sell Your Soul? Become a web content writer.” Now, that isn’t a TRUE name of an article I would publish, but along the same lines. Any well trafficked sites that would be open to such type of muckraking or counter-cultural articles? I could always publish it on my blog, but it would carry more weight if it got picked up by a site I didn’t publish myself.

Is it legal to post pictures from an official movie website onto a blog?

I’m writing a story about the Dark Knight for a marketing agency’s blog and need to find out if I can use pictures directly from the Dark Knight website.

For my own site I wouldn’t care, but they are worried about legal issues.

What is the Best Shopping cart software out there for my website?

I am building an online website for a client – We are doing MANY forms of marketing to promote their site – blog, social networking etc. I am currently considering a Drupal option. The already have a website with over 2000 items in it – there are currently using OSCommerce – so being able to convert is important.
I need to be able to install this solution on my own server and it doesn’t necessarily have to be free – but under $250 would be good. Thanks
