William asks…

Is there a way to separate multiple values that are separated by a comma in cell in excel?

I need to sum up certain values in excel, but the problem is some cells have multiple values (strings of text) that are separated by commas.

Specifically, I recorded the various tags for my 400+ blog posts, and wanted to figure out how many of each I have. An example of a cell could be [mobile, media, marketing, SMS], is there a way to separate the values with an equation in order to sum them

rel323 answers:

Sounds like you have a .csv file (comma separated values)
you will want to separate your words and numbers into separate cells…and the comma is the separator. Use text-to-columns

- select your data column
- click Data (from menu at top)
- click text to columns
- click delimited
- click Next
- click comma
- click done

now you should be able to sort and add up the numbers that have their own cells.

how to become rich via internet marketing?

There are many ways to become rich via internet marketing. The # 1 thing to focus on is who is your target market. You have to know who you potential customers are going to be. So for example, if you are selling shoes online, then you might say that your potential customer is, “anyone that wants to buy shoes”.. Which in fact may be true, but the more specific your niche, the better results you are going to get. So for example, you might want to target, pregnant women who are looking to buy shoes. That is more specific and you will have a more narrow audience than just targeting anyone that wants to buy shoes.

The second thing that you want to consider is how to get your product/information in front of those who are actively looking for it. You can do this in many ways. SEO, pic’s, etcs. You just have to educate yourself on these strategies so you can know which on works best for you.

One of the first things that you have to consider as well is your mindset. There are millions of people out there with great products, but with no sales and income. I once worked with a guy who had literally the best product in his specific niche, but he hardly made any money. He did all this kind of elaborate marketing and creative ways to get his product out there but none of it worked at all. His mindset was negative and he never got his product anywhere…….. That is just my advice. Work on your self (mindset) and also work on being targeted in who are your potential customers

Charles asks…

How do i get my blog post title and url of the post to show in the search results?

When I make a blog post I want the post title and the url of the post to appear in the search results. Right now when I make a post the main blog title and the blog url is the only thing coming up in the search results.

Example

I want it to look like this: www.xxxxxxxxx.com/post-title.html
this is what is shows now: www.xxxxxxx.com

Also I want the post title to be the main title in the search

Example:

My blogs title is GGG Marketing

I want it to show in the search engines as:

Post title| GGG Marketing

This will help my seo ranking for the specific keywords. I cannot figure out why its not coming up in the search engine this way. I am using pingomatic for each post and within 1 hour the post is live. But it says the main title instead of the post title.

I’m using this code now:

<b:include data='blog‘ name=’all-head-content’/>
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == “index”‘>

Can someone please help me

Linda asks…

Do you think that communication has been devalued in America?

I see so much division here on the internet, on TV, and just in the nation as a whole.
I believe that a major reason for the lack of progress on the problems that plague our nation today is that communication is too accessible. It used to be that someone with a good idea had to hold a rally, and if that idea caught on, more would listen and eventually they would be heard by millions. Now all they have to do is blog. No one has to earn the right to be heard anymore.
As a result we, as citizens, are submitted to a deluge of uninformed and childish assaults rather than an intelligent debate from those who have earned the right to speak. Power no longer goes to those with the best ideas, but those with the best marketing team. What’s your opinion on this and do you think there is anything that can be done about it?
Yeah_but…: No, I don’t want to live in the dark ages with no communication. That is a slippery slope fallacy. However, I wouldn’t mind less ability to be heard if it meant that those who ARE heard have something valuable to say.

I do agree with you.

I’ve heard people in my everyday life say the world is “over-signed”. Meaning, there are too many distractions that keep people further apart than in past decades. We’re pulled in too many different directions.

I think we’re also unintentionally rude as well- many of us don’t even know who our neighbors are!

I like the idea of blogs though… In the sense that they don’t have to always be about the writer. Or, not directly. Very few bloggers are going to notate their daily schedule and tell you what they had for breakfast each day.

They’ll turn you on to a new band though, or a new TV show. The internet is an incredible learning tool, regardless of if you’re learning about a subject for a report, or just about life.

But some bloggers do just want to sit and spout off what they feel is wrong with the world. They have nothing positive to say except, “Well at least it’s better than this other alternative”. Unfortunately when people speak like that, it gives their speech a black-or-white, with-me-or-against-me stance to the listener, and the listener or reader will spout off their contradictory replies… And it will escalate from there.

It is incredibly difficult to read people’s views as to what “tone” they are in… Which I think also helps with the miscommunication. People jot down their thoughts and run off to another blog or question and do it again.

I think with this upcoming election, we need to really look at the issues instead of the person. People change, after all. They’re not always feeling the same about the issues through their entire lives (what the opposing party would refer to as “flip-flopping”). And it is incredibly stupid to shoot someone down because of their looks, or their weight, or their colour, or their gender.

This is a very important decision… Why can’t people see this?

What should I write a blog about?

I am looking to start a blog and take it pretty seriously. I have read a ton of articles about how to start a blog and how to make a blog appealing, but there are very few articles that really helped me discover what I should write about. They all say write about something you’re passionate about but the only thing I am passionate about is football. Now I know that many people would say that is perfect, but it is a very saturated market and if someone came on my blog in a years time, they wouldn’t be interested in reading the articles I would publish tomorrow and that’s the kind of blog I want to create, something where all of the articles could be relevant to them in the present.

A lot to ask I know but does anyone have any ideas how maybe I could work football into that kind of style? Or it doesn’t have to be about football, I am open to suggestions.

You should write your blog about major events in your life i’m not talking about your 7th birthday or anything like that. I mean a break up and what you felt like (probably too feminine)
I don’t know my first blog was about saying goodbye (before Ugly Betty) and the one after that was about how some events effect your life and the people in it. I thought I’d tell you this because when i wrote my first blog i asked for something to write about and someone gave me the goodbyes idea xx Good luck.
