The 30 day blog content challenge has been quite a journey! Looking back I can already say the most memorable part is and will be the awesome people that joined me! Getting to do this with friends and in some cases strangers that became friends was really powerful. The support, strength and teamwork of this community always shines!

Yesterday I backup my self-hosted wordpress blog and it take almost a day to download to my local drive.

I am wondering what are the files contained in the wp-content/backup directory as it contain about 11 GB of data.

Can I safely delete these files without affecting the performance of my blog?

You probably don’t need them – except maybe the most recent. These are likely old backups, especially if they’re gzipped.
